PERDANA SPORT – Munich – Bayern Vs Wolfsburg: Lewandowski Two Goals, Die Roten Wins Thin. Bayern Munich has finally returned to winning ways in the German League. To meet the Wolfsburg challenge, Bayern won by a score of 2-1.

The Bayern vs Wolfsburg duel was held at the Allianz Arena, Thursday (17/12/2020). Die Roten were taken aback by the visitors’ quick goal by Maximilian Philipp in the fifth minute, before turning in the lead to win the game thanks to a pair of goals from Robert Lewandowski.

This result broke the fast for the victory of the defending champion after being detained by RB Leipzig and Union Berlin. Bayern remain in second place in the standings with 27 points, one point behind Bayer Leverkusen at the top.

Meanwhile, Wolfsburg is perched in fifth place with 21 points, one point adrift of Borussia Dortmund in the top four.

Bayern immediately pressed Wolfsburg from the start. Cooperation between Serge Gnabry and Leroy Sane created dangerous opportunities in the fourth minute. Sane’s kick was saved by Jerome Roussillon at the goal line.

Two minutes later, Bayern conceded instead. Maximilian Philipp gave Wolfsburg a 1-0 lead.

Sane failed to anticipate Roussillon’s cross from the left wing. The ball is controlled by Bote Baku who passes to Kevin Mbabu. The latter makes a cross for Philipp to finish with a volley.

Wolfsburg counterattack to trouble Bayern. In the 13th minute, Wolfsburg almost doubled his goal when Josip Brekalo fired a shot from area D that beat Manuel Neuer. However, the ball goes wide.

Bayern responded by creating two consecutive chances. Thomas Mueller’s bait to Robert Lewandowski can be swept away by the Wolfsburg defense. Then Sane’s pass followed by a first-time shot by Gnabry is blocked.

The deadlock for Bayern finally broke at the end of the first half. Kingsley Coman stabbed from the left flank before being followed through with a cross which Lewandowski finished with a header. Bayern equalized the score 1-1.
